For professionals · Raleigh & Wake County

A reliable housing conversation starts with your requirements.

For reentry coordinators, chaplains, wardens' administrative offices, parole and probation teams, reentry councils, correctional and hospital social workers, and community housing partners.

If you coordinate release, care transitions, shelter exits or reentry support, our goal is to learn which adults are difficult to house, realistic monthly housing budgets, acceptable room formats, transit requirements and the written approval steps your program needs. We can share only real, dated property information after it is verified. We do not request confidential client lists or medical/correctional files through a marketing website.

The referral process

Seven steps, and none of them is a guaranteed acceptance.

This is the sequence a placement moves through. Every step requires a real answer before the next one starts.

  1. 1

    Request an agency resource conversation.

  2. 2

Explain program requirements and desired location/rent.

  3. 3

Receive a current property fact sheet if one is available and appropriate.

  4. 4

Interested adult chooses whether to inquire and consents to any transfer of their details.

  5. 5

Operator reviews application, housing suitability, payment proof and reasonable accommodations.

  6. 6

Required corrections/program address clearance is obtained through proper authorities.

  7. 7

Written lease, verified vacancy and move-in details are completed.

No step is a guaranteed acceptance.

Questions for reentry and case management teams

Use these to prepare for a conversation, or answer them in the form below. Copy them and take them to your team if that is easier.

  1. 01Which adults returning to this county are hardest to find appropriate independent housing for, and why?
  2. 02How often do you encounter an address barrier in a typical month? Aggregate estimates only.
  3. 03How far ahead of release should an independent housing provider begin discussions?
  4. 04Which areas, bus routes, job corridors, or supervision geography requirements matter?
  5. 05Are room rentals, furnished private rooms, or shared bedrooms permitted by your program?
  6. 06What monthly all-in rent range works for your clients? What deposits or fees are permitted?
  7. 07What sources, if any, can authorize the first month of housing, deposit, or short-term assistance?
  8. 08Who actually approves the property or release address, and what written evidence is required?
  9. 09Is inspection, registration, insurance or approved-provider onboarding required?
  10. 10Who obtains the adult’s permission for a specific referral and how is the secure handoff made?
  11. 11What needs must be met by separately contracted support providers, rather than the landlord?
  12. 12Can we schedule a short presentation for your team and ask permission to send verified availability updates?

What case managers need to know

A short reference for the recurring points that decide whether a placement holds.

  • Independent housing, not a program

No on-site staff, no supervision, no clinical service. Anything a resident needs beyond housing must be arranged separately, by them or by your agency.

  • Address approval belongs to the supervising authority

We can supply accurate property facts. We cannot approve an address, and we will not imply otherwise.

  • Written terms, published up front

Lease or room agreement terms and house rules are shared before anyone commits — not after.

  • Availability is time-stamped

Any property we describe carries a last-verified date. If we do not have a current fact sheet, we say so rather than estimating.

  • Accommodations are reviewed individually

Against the actual property — access, layout and evacuation. No blanket exclusions.

  • Consent gates every handoff

The adult chooses whether to inquire. We do not accept client details on an agency's behalf without their consent.

Agency housing resource inquiry

Tell us your requirements and we will set up a 15-minute conversation. This form is for professional information only.

Do not include

Inmate names, DOC numbers, release records, clinical details, diagnoses, Social Security numbers or case notes. Aggregate need only.

Provider packet

A branded one-page provider packet becomes downloadable once the approved file is uploaded. Until then we send the information by reply — we do not show a download link to a file that does not exist.

Professional housing resource inquiry

Fields marked with an asterisk are required. Provide a work email or a work telephone number.

This is a partnership inquiry. It does not reserve housing or confirm a placement. Do not include client names, dates of birth, SSNs, diagnoses, medical records, criminal histories or financial documents.

Provide this or a work telephone number.

500 characters maximum. Aggregate only.

Request received; no referral partnership, room or funding is confirmed. We do not label any organisation a partner before explicit mutual confirmation.

For families and returning adults

If you are a family member or an adult planning for yourself, the family and returning adult guide explains the process in plain language and links to a separate inquiry form.
