Planning for housing after release?

It helps to begin with a release planning professional or supervising officer where required, identify the county you plan to live in, understand your realistic monthly rent budget and know what application documents you can lawfully provide.

Independent housing only  •  No guaranteed acceptance  •  Appropriate official address approval required when applicable

You can ask about our housing process without giving us confidential correctional or medical information. We work to keep the conversation simple, and we will tell you plainly when something is not ours to decide.

Five things worth preparing

You do not need all of these to ask a question. They are what makes the conversation useful.

  1. 1

    Destination city or county

Where you actually plan to live — not where it is easiest to get a bed.

  2. 2

    A safe callback channel

A phone or email you can access after release. A general housing timeline is enough — we never ask for an inmate ID.

  3. 3

    Rent and deposit funding source

How the first month and deposit would be paid: wages, family support, or an authorised programme.

  4. 4

Whether official address approval is required

Your supervising officer or reentry professional can confirm this. Approval sits with the authority, not with us or with family.

  5. 5

    Independent-housing needs

Ground floor, transit access, proximity to work — and any accommodation you want reviewed. We never ask for disability details on this form.

About transport

Please do not arrange transport, leave a facility address, or promise a move date before written acceptance and any required clearance. An inquiry does not reserve housing. We would rather you plan around a confirmed answer than around a hoped-for one.

What we provide, and what we do not

We provide

  • Housing information
  • Published applications and lease terms
  • Ordinary house rules and maintenance
  • Factually verified housing inventory
  • Consent-based contact with permitted referral professionals

We do not provide

  • Medical or behavioral-health treatment
  • Nursing or hands-on care
  • Custodial supervision
  • Guaranteed discharge placement
  • Prison release approval, reentry certification or parole/probation monitoring

Reasonable accommodations: requests are reviewed individually against the actual property, and selection follows written non-discriminatory rules. We do not apply blanket exclusions based on disability, the use of assistive devices, or a criminal record.

Ask about independent housing

A short inquiry so we can respond sensibly. Nothing here commits you, and nothing here guarantees housing.

What not to send

No Social Security number, birth date, prison ID, diagnosis, case notes, offence details, photographs of ID, benefits documents or release paperwork. Those belong in a separate, authorised application process.

Housing interest

Fields marked with an asterisk are required. This is not an application, offer or reservation.

This is a partnership inquiry. It does not reserve housing or confirm a placement. Do not include client names, dates of birth, SSNs, diagnoses, medical records, criminal histories or financial documents.

Use a number or address you can safely access after release.

We never ask for disability details on this form.

An inquiry does not reserve housing, confirm eligibility or authorise funding. We will confirm what we can actually offer before anything progresses.

If an agency is coordinating

Reentry coordinators and case managers should use the professional inquiry form, which keeps agency requirements and family details in separate queues.
