What we publish
We publish material that helps someone make a housing decision: how to verify a rent, what an address approval involves, what to check before signing, where the official source for a rule lives. We do not publish content primarily to attract search traffic. If a page would exist only to catch a keyword, it does not get written.
Source selection
We prefer sources in this order:
- 1. Primary law and regulation — statute, local ordinance, agency rule text.
- 2. Government data and official agency publications.
- 3. Established research organisations publishing their methodology.
- 4. Professional bodies, where their guidance is dated and attributable.
We do not cite anonymous advocacy material, undated blog posts, or statistics we cannot trace to an originating dataset.
Facts, interpretation and opinion
Every substantive page distinguishes three things: what a source states, what we conclude from it, and what we recommend. Where a figure appears, it carries its source and its period. Where we are stating a judgment — for example that a particular arrangement is likely to fail — we say it is our assessment, not a finding.
Numbers
Housing figures go stale quietly. We do not reproduce a statistic that lives in a source we do not control unless it is tied to a stated period and a link. Where a number would mislead if it were a year old, we link to the source rather than restating it.
What we never publish
- Reviews, testimonials or ratings we did not actually receive.
- Partner, hospital, agency or government endorsements that do not exist in writing.
- Availability, vacancy, occupancy or rate figures that have not been verified for the property.
- Agency feedback, survey results or placement counts without underlying records.
- Author biographies, credentials or qualifications we have not confirmed.
Authorship and review
Every substantive page names a responsible owner and a version. Pages are dated when published and re-dated when materially reviewed. Where a page has not been reviewed recently, the date shows it — we do not refresh a date without changing the content.
AI-assisted review
We use automated tooling to check internal links, page structure and consistency of terminology. We do not publish AI-generated claims about local law, agency process or housing availability. Anything of that kind is checked by a person against a primary source, or it is not published.
Conflicts of interest
Preferred Housing Solutions is a housing company. That is a conflict worth naming: we may benefit if you choose housing we operate or develop. We disclose it rather than pretend otherwise, and we try to give you the information you would need to choose a different provider without disadvantage. Where our interests and your best outcome diverge, we say so in the page.
Corrections
Errors are corrected, not quietly deleted. See our corrections policy for how to raise one and what happens next.
