Our commitment
Preferred Housing Solutions does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
This applies to every stage of what we do: partnership conversations, housing-needs documentation, property evaluation, referral handling, housing-fit review and accommodation decisions.
How this shows up in practice
- Housing-needs conversations are documented against the same questions for every agency, region and population.
- Properties are evaluated against a consistent written framework, not against assumptions about who would live there.
- Accommodation requests receive individualized review against the actual property conditions.
- Housing-fit decisions and their reasoning are recorded, so decisions can be reviewed rather than reconstructed from memory.
- We do not apply blanket exclusions based on disability, the use of assistive devices, or a diagnosis.
- Resident choice is a distinct step from housing acceptance, and neither is decided by an algorithm.
What we do not claim
We do not claim licensure, certification or exemption from any housing, health or care licensing requirement. We do not claim government endorsement, partnership or funding. We do not claim tax-exempt status or nonprofit designation.
Our housing track is independent and nonmedical. Because it does not provide personal care, clinical treatment, medication management or supervision, it is not a licensed care setting — and we will not describe it as one, or as an alternative to one, where a resident needs those services.
Property partners
Property owners and representatives who work with us are expected to follow fair housing law. Our written agreements will state this expectation, and we will not advance a partnership where an owner intends to screen or exclude on a protected basis.
Reporting a fair housing concern
If you believe you have been treated unfairly by PHS or by a partner acting through us, tell us using the accommodation and concerns route. Concerns about our conduct are handled on a separate track from accommodation requests so that neither dilutes the other.
You are also free to contact the relevant federal, state or local fair housing authority at any time. Raising a concern with us does not limit your options elsewhere.
For internal review before publication: The applicable licensing position, the specific fair housing authorities for each operating state, and the designated fair housing contact are not yet confirmed. These should be verified with counsel before this site is relied upon by the public.
